The data available represents data utilized in the article The Relationship Among Externalizing Symptoms, Criminogenic Needs, and Commercial Sexual Exploitation (coming in 2025). The article provides an explanation of methodology in developing the data. Please review the article to understand how the data was generated. The behavior data included responses as described in the manual. The research article collapsed several of the behavior variables to increase reliability.
This sample of youths experiencing CSE were referrals from the Department of Child Services (DCS) or juvenile probation. In addition, most youths were referred for residential treatment. This referral process suggests that the youth in this sample experienced and/or presented with more externalizing symptoms and criminogenic needs than a sample referred for outpatient services or not having DCS or juvenile probation involvement. Analysis of this data should consider this characteristic of the sample.
