Be a Volunteer and Help the Kids We Serve
Things you can do today that will benefit the survivors in our programs:
Write Words of Encouragement Cards
To our staff, who often suffer from secondary trauma when dealing with traumatized teen survivors.
For the teens
Recovery can be lonesome and discouraging. Scripture and words of encouragement are sincerely appreciated by the teens during their recovery journey. Once you’ve gathered your items, consider spending some time praying for the Ascent 121 teens who will receive them. Prepare your letters and write Ascent 121 Teen on the outside of each envelope. PLEASE DO NOT SEAL ENVELOPES. Please deliver cards in one zip lock plastic bag. Enclose in the bag a note that says what church or organization you are from and the contact information for the leader of your group.
These are ongoing volunteer needs if you have several hours each month:
- Marketing/Office work: social media, blogging, graphic design, special projects, and mailings
- Events: plan, staff, and host fundraising and awareness events
Where do you start? Register as a volunteer on the Count Me In form. You’ll receive our newsletter, which lists our monthly volunteer needs.
Note: due to the complexity of the trauma that the survivors have experienced and to protect their privacy, we do not have volunteers work directly with the kids.
